My friend Megan is preparing to move down to Northern California in the next few months for a new grand adventure. While I’m very sad to lose her presence day-to-day in Portland, I’m excited for her to start on this new path. We took a quick trip down to the area last weekend to explore. I was awestruck. So beautiful, and so close to the ocean, I completely understand now why she’s heading that direction. I can’t wait to visit her once she’s moved down and settled in.

We camped both nights, one night by the Smith River, the next at Clam Beach north of Arcata. Didn’t get much sleep in our little tent since my old pup also joined us and of course was treated like a prince (dog bed at the foot of the tent, didn’t leave us much room), but it was completely worth it.

R let me borrow his Lomo camera again, love the way that point-and-shoot handles lighting. Below are some photos I took on our fun little trip.
